Published by robertos under Uncategorized and tagged: ,

Today we deployed a change on Store Setting “What currency would you like to use on your storefront?”. Originally this option was not turn on as a default but now every store owner has it. At the same time, we have now added an extensive list of currencies. This option does not do any currency conversion, this is a future update, but only displays the currency symbol.

Canada Post Integration

Published by robertos under Uncategorized and tagged: , ,

Good news to all our Canadian clients!

You’ve asked us for Canadian Post shipping options. We’ve listened and are happy to announce that we’ve just completed this important addition. Adding Canada Post shipping options to your store is simple:
1. In your Builder Admin site, select Builder > Store Manager > Shipping Charges. The Shipping Wizard displays.
2. Select the Standard Shipping Provider option and Click Next.
3. When the Wizard asks you the shipping provider you’d like to use, select Canada Post and click Next.
4. At this point, you’ll need your Canada Post Merchant ID (CPC). To get that, either go to the link provided on the wizard, or call 866-511-0546. Enter the number you receive in the Merchant CPC ID field and click Next.
5. The system will recognize your number and allow you to add Canada Post shipping options to the products in your store.
Note: This shipping option is like all the other shipping options in the Builder. You must go through each of your products and apply your Canada Post shipping option. Then, please remember that the shipping amounts will display in Canadian dollars.

How to kill an idea, or help it grow

Published by robertos under Uncategorized and tagged:

To kill an idea, say:

  • It’s not part of your job
  • That’s not what we do here
  • Costs too much
  • Against the company policy
  • It’s not budgeted, maybe next year
  • Let the other department handle that
  • It is not our problem
  • Why would you do something like that?
  • We have been doing it another way for a long time and it works fine
  • If it’s so good, why hasn’t someone suggested it already?
  • Has anyone else tried it successfully?
  • We have tried that before and it didn’t work
  • Is anyone crazy enough to try that?
  • We’re already doing that

To help an idea, say:

  • Yes, and…
  • Great, let’s try it
  • How can we make time to see if it will work?
  • What resources would we need to do it? Tell me more
  • How can we make it work?
  • What are the advantages?
  • How can we remove the dis-advantages?
  • What can I do to help this happen?
  • I like it
  • That sounds interesting, tell me more
  • How can we convince everyone else?
